Did you know 1,935 people experience homelessness in Calgary on any given night?

For these adults, youth and families, homelessness is not a choice, and each person experiences it differently.

OUR MISSION

The mission of The Reach Out Project is simple:

We hand out full backpacks to those who are experiencing homelessness.

We are a team that endeavors to help the homeless in the Calgary area.

Our backpacks are meant to deliver hygiene supplies, light snacks,

and seasonal accessories to people in need.

OUR VALUES

It is our experience that a ten-minute conversation can dispel a lifetime of assumptions about homelessness and the people who experience it.

An open mind, heart, and ear is all it takes to understand how little separates someone who is homeless from someone who is not.

ANNUAL CARE PACK DRIVE'S HISTORY

I wanted to give back during the holidays so I came up with the idea to hand out backpacks to the less fortunate,and together with

Jessalyn of Mortgages by Jessalyn and Kacie of Digital DragonFly, in 2020 we donated and delivered 50 Care Packs to the City of Calgary's homeless.

2022 marked the 2nd Annual Care Packs Drive where we donated 60 Care Packs to the City of Calgary's less fortunate.

Each care pack includes warm socks, a toque, mittens, thermal blankets, gift cards & a few other essentials. 

In 2023 our plan is to continue this initiative and make it bigger & better for years to come.

Melissa DeLong and I have revamped the platform and changed the name to The Reach Out Project.

Our goal is to do both a summer and winter backpack hand-out with seasonal accessories.
