A Look into the Digital World with Digital DragonFly

I met Kacie when she scared me in our shared office. I had my hands full as always and was juggling all my stuff and my keys. Trying to open the door when suddenly it popped open. I just about dropped everything! And there was Kacie. Great way to meet my new office mate. Fast forward six months & Kacie had left the world of real estate. I was chatting with a colleague and they were talking about their new digital marketer, it was Kacie! I called her up to see how she was doing and see if she would be interested in looking at my website and help me out. She worked her digital magic and built me a great website! From there I hired her to be my digital creator.

Digital DragonFly’s Story

How did Digital DragonFly come to be?

Starting out as a newbie in real estate, I wasn’t sure where to start in marketing myself. So, I attended a social media conference and watched a few website building tutorials, and I dove into the digital world. Life kind of happened and I left real estate. However, I had made a few connections in the real estate world and they needed some assistance in social media & website building. And so Digital DragonFly was born!

Do you only help REALTOR®’s?

I help a few real estate agents. But I have client’s in a variety of industries including destination wedding planning and environmental consulting.

What exactly does a digital marketer do?

It’s funny I ask myself that frequently. Every time a client wants to try something new, I always say sure let’s try that. And I dive into a tutorial or trial and figure it out. My job encompasses a few things; social media management, website building, Facebook posts, digital advertising, social media platform setup, and content writing. If it lives in the digital realm, I am there.

What makes you stand out from other digital marketers?

I get to know my client’s so that the content I create has their voice. Communicating with my clients, to ensure that every post, blog, and website page is what they are looking for. I tell every client that if they don’t like something to let me know so that I can make it right. Sometimes it takes a few rough drafts to get a feel for a person’s personality and likes/dislikes. Not every post is going to be perfect and knowing that they can text me to make changes or go in a different direction helps my clients know that I have their best interests at heart. I also love sitting and brainstorming ideas with my clients. Getting the collaborative creative juices flowing. It’s amazing what ideas get thrown around over a coffee. I research my client’s industries, it helps me to create content that is relevant to their target markets. I also look at what their competition is doing, see what is working and what isn’t. I have actually had a few competitors start following my client’s social accounts (I count this as a huge win).

When you aren’t in the digital world, what do you do for fun?

I love hiking! The mountains are my rejuvenation place. Sitting in front of a computer all day, I love getting back to nature and refocusing my creative side.

Ok, just for fun. If you could work from anywhere, where would you work?

The term digital nomad has been making its rounds on the internet lately. And I am a big fan of it. The thought of sitting on the beach with my laptop and creating content holds a certain appeal.

I fell in love with Bali a decade ago, the people, culture, and climate. If I could pack up my laptop and head there, I would in a heartbeat. But I sure do miss my outdoor office.

I spent the entire summer outside in my backyard, under a canopy. It was divine!

BLB Final Thoughts

When I first met Kacie I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about her. She was awkward around me. I have this bad unintentional habit of intimidating people. Although, I don’t think I was actually intimidating her but missing the simple fact that she was a little nervous. Not only is the Real Estate world nerve-racking in itself but starting at an office full of 90 REALTORs® with huge personalities can also be a bit nerve-racking.  Once I figured her out, I realized that this was a girl I wanted on my team and I think she’s beyond awesome. I love that she is true to herself.  I believe everything happens for a reason. I always felt that Real Estate wasn’t quite what Kacie was meant to do but I do believe she will be successful at anything she puts her mind to. Real estate was ultimately what led her to the career she is 100 percent meant to do. Our world has a weird way of working out and in Kacie’s case, it was totally meant to be. I’ve said this numerous times now that working with Kacie is one of the best decisions, I have made this far in my real estate career. She’s super smart, kind, passionate, and creative. I love that she has truly got to know me and that everything she works on for me is not only her doing her absolute best but she’s also doing it in a way that she knows I would. She’s an absolute ALL Star. I know I can depend on her and even more importantly I trust her. If she doesn’t know something, she figures it out and she is constantly learning and growing. I admire that about her. I know Kacie is going to do big things and I am going to be cheering her on every step of the way. It’s an absolute honor to have her on my team but even more of an honor to call her my good friend. If you need a website or any digital marketing Kacie is your girl.
